Social Media - how involved should artists be?

Hey all...Think on this.  Do we really need to have our favorite musicians online all the time?  This guy seems to think that Kip Winger has 'missed the boat' as far as social media goes.  However, I don't think so--the main reason is that it is so time consuming that he really can't do Twitter, Google +, and Facebook as well as his own website.  I stuck up for Kip and basically told this guy that I'd rather see Kip working on his music than hanging out online--Kip has had bad experiences…
