Music...Now there's an incredibly broad topic of something that's really important to me. So let me try to convey this in a way so that you knowing my music tastes will allow you to, in essence, know me.

Ever since the invention of the Ipod, whenever someone is asked what kind of music they listen to, the same answer always shows its face. "I listen to pretty much everything." Which in most cases, is true. If one really is an audiophile, then they should like many types of music because they appreciate good music. There is always a good song no matter what genre it is. And if you are a heavy hardcore rocker, then you are no musician if you cannot turn around and write a beautiful ballad as well as a thrashing anthem.

But none of this really answers the question now, does it? What does Matt listen to? Well, I'll listen to pretty much anything, but when it comes right down to it, I definitely have specific music preferences. My favorite genre? 80's hair metal. No contest. Power chords, energy, long hair, powerful vocals, and pyrotechnics like you've never seen before. Not only do these gods of rock play mega-awesome metal anthems, but they can tear you up with an incredible power ballad. I don't carry a lighter on me because I smoke.; -)

I am only 19, yet I focus on a music genre that faded away before I was 1 year old. How did this happen? Well, I found some Quiet Riot one day, then I found Steelheart, and instantly the fantastic energy of this genre became a great desire for me to listen to. I respect this genre so much, I actually BUY their CD's! Show me another 19 year old that does that.

The owner of Smokin Tunz Radio, Brian "The Badass" Boone lost his battle with diabeties and passed away on November 2nd. If you can, any donations to help funeral costs and medical bills would be greatly appreciated. Thoughts and prayers go out to Brian's family and friends during these difficult times.
