I picked up the Rebirth CD Saturday at the show and have been playing it all week. These are the thoughts that I've been having about the CD and the individual tracks :

First, for the casual Hard Rock Fan I'd rate the CD 9 / 10.
For fans of the band in the 1980's, we have to go to the "Spinal Tap" scale & rate it 11 / 10. (10 just isn't high enough)

#1 Circle of Light - (Band chose their name after this song so it has to be special) Bone-jarring rhythm section of bass & drums, great lyrics & vocals & Steve Blazing away.

#2 Circus Comes to Town - Lyrics are nice and simple and I love the structure of this song, especially the way it begins, building from acoustic guitar, drums come in & start rhythm, then guitar rhythm that changes when vocals come in. COoL

#3 Sail Into the Heavens - Straight forward Head-Banger with great lyrics !

#4 Modern Day Vampire - Lyrics remind me of Bark at the Moon but the music is much better. Clean, galloping sound.

#5 Rebirth - Anthem for those that choose Right over Wrong

#6 Rest In Peace - Early Judas Priest. This would be right at home on Point of Entry.

#7 Silent Night Lonely Night - Nice ballad with some pretty guitar work, but I find the lyrics sad as Johnny begs his baby to come back.

#8 Every Dog Has Its Day - This was always one of my favorites so I had a clear memory of it, but now I'm more interested in the others that I'm rediscovering.

#9 On a Clear Night - Great song all around, nice lyrics and a great hook.

#10 Try to Stop Me Now - Fast-paced rocker that has a nice change of pace break (some day, one day...) before resuming speed.

#11 King of the Beasts - Jungle drum rhythm with just the right
amount of cow-bell and a growling guitar. Love it.

I can't believe that I left out the cover of Black Sabbath's Fairies Wear Boots. One of the highlights of the evening.

Last night was a very special night. They did what no one else could possibly do : bring back 26-year-old memories, polish them up to be better than brand new and deliver the goods in an electric atmosphere. There's no adequate words to describe it because nothing like this has ever occurred that I'm aware of. It was a magical, unforgettable experience. I believe that they played every song on the CD except "Silent Night...' in addition to covers of American Band, Sin City (Steve Blaze vocals), Delivering the Goods, My Woman From Tokyo and Walkin' the Dog.
